Help the Myanmar refugees
As a result of the USAID funding freeze earlier in 2025 affecting refugee support globally, critical lifelines for vulnerable communities have been cut. For the Karenni and Karen refugees on the Thai-Myanmar border, the consequences have been devastating. Clinics that once provided care for many people daily have only just re-opened with bare minimum staff and supplies. Oxygen, antibiotics, diabetes medication, and basic maternal health supplies are either not available or in short supply. While some emergency aid has trickled back in, it is a fraction of what’s needed—and thousands are now left without essential medical care.
To make matters worse, the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar in March 2025 has further strained already thin resources. Humanitarian funding has been rapidly redirected toward earthquake response, leaving refugee camps with even less support. Food rations, already minimal, are being reduced or delayed. Children go to sleep hungry. Pregnant women and the elderly are falling ill from entirely preventable causes—because there is no food, no medicine, and nowhere to turn.
We cannot—and will not—stand by while lives are lost simply because funding disappeared.
We are urgently raising awareness and mobilizing support. Every dollar donated goes directly to the refugee camps in Thailand. Our immediate goals are to:
Provide essential medication and food for those suffering from chronic illnesses such as tuberculosis, respiratory disease, and diabetes
Continue to fund emergency medical care for patients who cannot afford hospital treatment
Supplement food supplies for families most affected by the ration cuts
This is not just about healthcare or food—it’s about restoring dignity, offering hope, and giving people a fighting chance to survive.
Together, we can respond with compassion and action. Together, we can help families facing impossible choices. Please give what you can. Now is the time to stand up, speak out, and show the refugees they are not forgotten.
